Carol in PLUR1BUS sets out to save Western civilisation oppressed by enforced happiness in a dystopian future
Vince Gilligan makes his highly anticipated return on TV with a new scifi series PLAR1BUS. It explores a dystopian future, one which our real world is very much headed towards, where happiness is the mandate and society is oppressed by being kind, happy, and empathetic, with the Western civilisation headed towards collapse.
This is the first major TV show on big screen that explores a future where woke rules Western societies, and the led character is on a mission to save the world from it.
This show should be a reminder to the world that we are headed into such a dystopian future. Just look at early signs such as censorship, progressive ideologies, mass immigration, Jacinda Ardern, suicidal empathy, globalisation, and algorithms.
The Western civilisation is being programming into oblivion, teaching people to self-censor, to smile, to nod along, to not speak the truth, and if you’re unkind, you’re to be exterminated. In PLUR1BUS, this programming is complete—happiness is the law.
Progress is not this thing that organically evolves. There are always over corrections, and a response to over corrections, but PLUR1BUS is a reminder that at some point over corrections will destroy the world unless we are brave enough like Carol to save it from collapse.
The dystopia of Pluribus isn’t far off. When truth is sacrificed for kindness, when empathy becomes a weapon, and when happiness is enforced at gunpoint, we’re already halfway there.
Carol’s battle to save the world from this oppression is a call for us all.
Watch the show on Apple TV+ from November 7th.
